Les intérêts de recherche et d’enseignement du professeur Homayouni incluent principalement la géomatique, la télédétection, et l’analyse des observations de la Terre optiques et radar à synthèse d’ouverture par des approches avancées de l’intelligence artificielle et de l’apprentissage automatique pour des applications urbaines et agro-environnementales.

Biographie

De 2006 à 2007, Saeid Homayouni a été boursier postdoctoral du laboratoire Agro-Géomatique de l’Université de Bordeaux Agro-Science (France). De 2008 à 2011, il a été professeur adjoint au Département de Sciences spatiales et Génie géomatique de l’Université de Téhéran (Iran). De 2011 à 2013, dans le cadre du programme de bourses du CRSNG, il a travaillé avec le Groupe d’observation de la Terre d’Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada au Centre de recherche et de développement d’Ottawa. De 2013 à 2019, il a travaillé au département de Géographie, Environnement et Géomatique de l’Université d’Ottawa en tant que professeur adjoint, associé de recherche et professeur auxiliaire en télédétection et SIG.

Projets de recherche récents

  • Cartographie et surveillance des cultures à l’aide d’observations de la terre multi-sources et multi-temporelles (optiques et radar) et d’approches avancées d’apprentissage automatique et d’intelligence artificielle (collaboration avec l’AAC).
  • Télédétection haute résolution par les drones pour soutenir le phénotypage (collaboration avec l’AAC et le partenaire commercial).
  • Détection et surveillance des plastiques et des microplastiques par analyse d’images par télédétection (collaboration avec le CNRC).
