Graduate Studies

The Centre Eau Terre Environnement offers 6 programs for graduate and postgraduate studies and is the only academic institution in Quebec to offer a Master's degree in Water Sciences. The Centre’s Earth Sciences programs are offered in collaboration with Laval University.

MASTER’S PROGRAMS


♦ Master’s in Water Sciences

This program is intended for science and engineering graduates and aims to provide the multidisciplinary knowledge necessary for the study of environmental problems related to water. The Centre’s researchers have an extensive knowledge of water sciences, ranging from watershed management to wastewater treatment.

♦ Professional Master’s in Water Sciences

The professional Master's covers scientific and technical disciplines related to the management and protection of water as well as some of the social aspects related to these issues. The goal of the program is to train professionals who can make decisions and find innovative solutions to problems in this field.

♦ Master’s in Earth Sciences
This program enables earth science graduates to gain in-depth understanding of a particular field of earth sciences. It provides graduates with opportunities to be involved in scientific research, and prepares them for a profession in geology or geological engineering. The Centre’s researchers have a vast knowledge of the geological sciences, especially of mineral, oil and gas resources and of hydrogeology.

♦ Professional Master’s in Earth Sciences – Environmental Technologies

Finding effective and sustainable solutions to environmental problems is a fundementally interdisciplinary task (requiring an excellent knowledge of a variety of technologies). The professional Master's focuses on environmental technologies used in the practice of civil, chemical, geological, and agroalimentary engineering. as well as technologies used in environmental sciences including soil, air, and water decontamination technologies, waste recycling technologies, and technologies used for pollution prevention.

PHD PROGRAMS


♦ PhD in Water Sciences

Understanding the issues associated with water resources and aquatic environments involves a number of scientific disciplines, and resolving these issues requires a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. The PhD in Water Sciences Program trains specialized researchers capable of identifying and resolving these major environmental issues that society faces. It enables students to gain a broader and deeper understanding of the water sciences while also allowing them to specialize in a specific field .

♦ PhD in Earth Sciences

This research-oriented program allows for advanced specialization in various fields of fundamental or applied geology, or geological engineering.
